SAVOY: AR medal (100.69g), 1915, Forrer VIII, 84, 60mm silver medal on the start of World War I by Attilio Motti, ancient soldier standing facing, between four allegorical figures, holding cross and receiving laurel wreath // flaming altar at top of steps between two eagles and inscribed AD GLORIUM with MAGGIO to left and MCMXV to right, small obverse rim bump, a few faint reverse scratches, beautifully toned, in original plush case, very rare, plain edge, Unc. An internet search revealed no other examples of this medal in silver.
