ITALY: Vittorio Emanuele III, 1900-1946, AR medal (13.14g), ND (1911-2), Bini-113, 32mm Italian Libya Campaign Medal 1911-12 with original blue and red ribbon, bust right with VITTORIO EMANVELE III RE D'ITALIA around // LIBIA in large letters in center within laurel wreath, with hanger, plain edge. The medal is fitted with a fixed bar loop suspender and a piece of 36 mm ribbon of six blue stripes and five red stripes of equal widths. Awarded to Italian troops that fought against the Ottoman Empire (Turkey) in the Libyan Campaign of 1911-12. It was also known as the Tripolitan War and was regarded by the Italian Government as a separate action during the Italo-Turkish War. The obverse is the same as the Italo-Turkish War Medal.
