JAPAN: AR medal (33.85g), 1964, van Alfen-107 (AE), 40mm 1.000 fine silver Participant's Medal for the 1964 Summer Olympics by Okamoto Taro and Kazumitsu Tanaka for Naigai Art, Inc., three stylized runners with laurel sprig above and abstract swimmer at top // the Olympic Rings with "XVIII / OLYMPIAD / (Japanese Characters) / (Japanese Characters)" above and "TOKYO / 1964" below, antiqued finish, "FEINSILBER 1000/000" on edge, Unc. This silver version was awarded to Summer Games officials and dignitaries. Participants were awarded the same medal but in bronze and larger (61mm).
