JAPAN: Bunkyu, 1861-1864, lead 100 mon (155.63g), Hosokura Mint, Mutsu Province, H-6.8, JNDA-140.17, 59 x 60mm, hoso / kura across, to / hyaku ("worth 100 [mon]") above and below, with official's signature on reverse, cast in the 4th year of the Bunkyu era (1864), VF-XF. Made by the Sendai clan at the Hosokura Mint in Mutsu province. It is said that because it was so heavy and inconvenient to carry, a smaller 10 mon piece was made, but this has not been recorded.
