JAPAN: Keio, 1865-1868, iron 25 mon (9.19g), H-7.5A, type known as a Mito Daikoku-sen (Mito Daikoku Coin) with Daikoku, the God of Wealth on reverse, likely a contemporary local issue cast in iron, Fine to VF, R, ex Dr. Axel Wahlstedt Collection. Legend translates as "Longevity as great as the South Mountain." These coins were first issued in 1864 by the Morioka-han in Mutsu Province (present day Iwate-ken).
