JAPAN: Taisho, 1912-1926, AE medal, year 14 (1925), Zeno-193067, 55mm, commemorating the birth of Princess Teru (daughter of Hirohito / Emperor Showa), obverse text in Japanese reads "Commemoration of birth of Her Highness the Princess Teru" / "Born on Taisho 14, December 6" // mythical bird flying before the imperial palace, initials IS below for the engraver (I. Sato), edge stamped I. Sato and with mint hallmark ("Japan Mint Made"), a fun design and a very difficult to find medal, XF. There are only two examples of this rare medal listed on CoinArchives, each of which was sold in one of our auctions (in September 2019 and January 2023).
