JAPAN: Taisho, 1912-1926, AE plaque, year 13 (1924), 77x61mm plaque, commemorating the Marriage of Crown Prince Hirohito and Princess Nagako (the later Emperor Showa and Empress Kojun) on January 26, 1924, portraits of the prince and princess, chrysanthemum seal above, inscription "To Commemorate the Wedding of His Highness (the Crown Prince of) the Togu Palace" below // two entwined trees (a traditional symbol of marriage) with date between, inscription "(high in the sky) hang the sun and moon" (about the wedding of the Prince and Princess) to right, and "five stars (looking like) the necklace of pearls" to left, Japan Mint hallmark on bottom edge, AU. The obverse was engraved by Shoukichi Hata and the reverse was engraved by I. Sato.
