JAPAN: Tenpo, 1830-1844, AR chogin (124.07g), Edo Mint, H-9.50, Cr-9b, JNDA-09-68, stamped 6 times with daikoku (God of Wealth), with character po stamped at both ends, 0.260 fine silver, struck 1837-58, bold strike for type, XF The chogin were various silver ingots shaped like a sea cucumber, which did not have a face value and were valued by weight. This was the same for the mameita-gin of various sizes as well. These types were stamped with the Japanese era name at the time of manufacture.
