KADAMBAS OF GOA: Jayakesi III, ca. 1187-1216, AV pagoda (4.37g), year angira (1212), Mitch-SI-237, cf. Chattopadhyaya-142, lion standing left, raising right front leg, sun to right, cyclical date angira in Nagari to left // sri saptako- / tisha labdhavara vi- / ra jayakesi deva / malavama- / ri, EF, R. We tentatively date this coin to 1212 AD during the reign of Jayakesi III, though it is possible that it could have been struck earlier, either in 1092 or 1152, as a posthumous issue of Jayakesi I (ca. 1050-80) or Jayakesi II (ca. 1104-47).
