KART: Pir 'Ali, 1369-1382, AV mithqal (4.23g), Herat, AH773, A-V2353, obverse has mint name, date in words, and the phrase sanaha Allah 'an al-afat, "may God protect it from calamities," reverse has the Sunni kalima & the names of the four Rashidun, VF, RRR. This is first known gold coin of the Kart dynasty, originally reported to Zeno by the consignor, stymied by its identification (Z-122032). The reverse is closely similar to contemporary silver coins of Pir 'Ali.
