KARTS: temp. Pir 'Ali, 1369-1382, AV mithqal (4.29g), Herat, AH773, A-V2353, obverse has the mint name, the date in words, and the phrase sanaha Allah 'an al-afat, "may God protect it from calamities," reverse has the Sunni kalima & the names of the four Rashidun, VF-XF, RRRR. This is second known gold coin of the Kart dynasty. The first example, same dies as this piece, was originally reported to Zeno (#122032) before it was consigned to SARC Auction 16 (lot 644). The reverse is closely similar to the relatively common contemporary silver coins of Pir 'Ali.
