KATHMANDU: Mahipatendra Malla, ca. 1669, AR mohar (5.43g), ND, KM-177, Rh-266, trident in diamond obverse center, 4 panels around, VF, RRR. According to Rhodes (page 88), "Mahipatendra was the younger brother of Chakravartendra, who did not succeed to the throne after his father's death [in 1674], so these undated coins were probably struck during the lifetime of Pratap Malla [his father, who died in 1674], perhaps after Chakravartendra Malla's death about AD1669 and before his father resumed the throne after his pilgrimage, later in the same year."
