KUNTALA: Punchmarked, 5th century BC, AR double karshapana (6.57g), Pieper-119, "pully" design, with no additional symbol above; blank reverse, choice XF, R, ex Wilfried Pieper Collection. Current research has assigned Kuntala to the Deccan Wai region. The denomination was originally called half shatamana, but now that many more have been published with weight, double karshapana seems correct.
