KUSHAN: Vasudeva I, ca. 190-230, AV dinar (8.14g), G-689, king standing, sacrificing over altar & holding trident, another trident to left, swastika between legs // Shiva standing before the Nandi bull, slightly double-struck towards the left on the reverse only, UNC, R. Rare variety with ? to left of the second trident. This type is considered a posthumous issue, which then became the prototype for the first Kushano-Sasanian gold coinage under Peroz I (240-270), thus struck during the reign of the Kushano-Sasanian ruler Ardashir (230-245, no gold known in his name) or during the first 10 to 20 years of the reign of Peroz I.
