LATER IDRISID: al-Qasim b. Muhammad, 938-948, AR fractional dirham (0.46g), NM, ND, A-U430, citing the ruler al-Qasim b. Muhammad on the obverse, the Fatimid Imam al-Qa'im (934-946) by his personal name Muhammad and the title al-imam on the reverse; probably without mint and date; the first discovered coin of the last Idrisid rulers and unique! VF, RRRR. The Idrisids were evicted from their capital city Fês in 927, re-emmerged in the Rif Mountains in northern Morocco by about 937 or 938, where they continued to ruler a small area until some time between about 974 and 985. No coins of the late Idrisids have yet been published, as this is the first.
