Li, Zuoxian, Gu Guan Hui, in the name of the Emperor Tong Zhi with cyclical date jia zi, 1864, 16 volumes with 4 volumes of supplements for total of 20 volumes. Wonderful and important early work on Chinese coins from the Eastern Zhou dynasty to the Qing dynasty, also covers coin molds, amulets and charms with over 5,000 hand drawn examples. Block printed and paper wire bound, with teak covers in two 10 volume 'books' with string connecting all together frayed. It appears to the original printing. A very rare and collectible piece of literature, lot of 20 volumes bound in 2 books, RR, ex. Michael C. Carlos Museum of Emory University. From museum deacquisition of approximately 2006. A similar example sold in the China Bookstore Neptune Village Auction Company sale in Beijing, May 28, 2011 for $5000.
