MÜHLHAUSEN: Free Imperial City, BI 3 pfennig, 1767, KM-56.2, C-2a, scarce, a lovely lustrous mint state example, PCGS graded MS63, ex Joe Sedillot Collection. One of only two graded at PCGS!Mühlhausen is a historic German city known for its well-preserved medieval center, featuring eleven Gothic churches, patrician houses, and extensive fortifications. Notable figures associated with the city include Johann Sebastian Bach, who worked there in 1707-08, and Thomas Müntzer, who preached and was executed there, as well as Brooklyn Bridge engineer John A. Roebling and architect Friedrich August Stüler, both born in Mühlhausen.
