IMPORTANT NOTE - The Buyer's Premium is now $20 per lot or 20% of the hammer price, whichever amount is greater. However, we have also reduced opening bids on lower value items to adjust for the new Buyer's Premium structure, so all-in costs are still very close to what they were in the past. This change in fee structure will allow us to continue to offer coins valued at less than $100 in addition to our higher value offerings. Contact us with any questions.
MADAGASCAR: Ranavalona III, 1883-1897, AE 10 centimes, 1883, KM-X1, Lec-5, with the letter E for "ESSAI" on star on reverse, a wonderful lustrous example! NGC graded MS64 RB. Ranavalona III was the last sovereign of the Kingdom of Madagascar. Her reign ended in ultimately futile efforts to resist the colonial designs of the government of France. She was a remarkable non-European female ruler who addressed Queen Victoria as "my dear sister." Struck by Auguste Brichaut, Brussels.
