MALAY STATES: LOT of 72 coins, many rare types, tin pitis unless otherwise noted, including Kedah (8): Rijaluddin AR 1/4 rial (SS--), four copper tarras (3 of Zia'uddin, and one with flower cf. SS-16), two earlier tin pitis (same type, one with legible name of Muhammad Shah), and a segment of 2 tin rings (SS-20d); Terengganu (2): both kadhir malik al-'adil (SS-8var); Aceh (15): twelve tin-lead pitis (a few with faint date) and three 1/2-pitis; Jambi (12): various types, some octagonal, a few with light luster; Demak (2); Palembang (3); Samudra-Pasai (2); Siak (1); and an uncertain type (possibly from Riau, cf. Zeno-308489); Cash coins (22): 2 local imitations, a Bangka Chinese tin jokoh, a Balinese ritual cash coin (cf. Zeno-345399), the rest Chinese cash found in Indonesia; Western-style coins (4): three local imitations of VOC duits (possibly from Banjarmasin, incl. a half duit), a Singapore merchant token; most in average circulated conditions, all attributed on accompanying holders by the consignor; retail value $750, lot of 72 pieces.
