MEDIEVAL RUSSIA: "Pookskie" imitation, ca. 1385, AR denga (0.68g), H&P-5060-70, large Cyrillic D, counterstamped on a clipped-down Golden Horde host of the mint of Saray al-Jadida (single digit of 7 at obverse bottom), attractive rosé toning, Choice XF on VF-EF host, ex Jim Farr. "Pookskie" means on the Oka River, which flows south of Moscow, descending through the cities of Serpukhov, Kolomna, Ryazan, and finally pouring into the Volga River at Nizhny Novgorod.
