MEXICO: AE off-metal pattern 8 reales, 1829-Pi, KM-Pn21, as KM-377.12, assayer JS, pattern strike in bronze, tiny reverse flan flaw in left field, NGC graded MS61 BR, R. A similar piece in NGC MS-63 BN was sold by Heritage in their Sale 3032, Lot 25433, for $4250. According to Theodore Buttrey, these were struck in England, as the dies still are in the Royal Mint museum.
