MING: 1 kuan, ND (1375-1505), Pick-AA10, Great Ming Treasure Note, graded 'Genuine' by GBCA Grading Company, Fine, ex Dr. Dirk Löer Collection, ex Teutoburger Münzauktion Auction 91, Lot 85. These Great Ming Treasure Notes were first issued in 1375 under the Hongwu Emperor, and were rather successful at first. However, overprinting led to high inflation, and later Hongzhi (1487-1505) and Zhengde (1505-1521) abolished the production of these notes. The 1 guàn (kuan) banknotes were the largest paper notes ever produced in the history of China.
