MING: Nurhachi, 1616-1626, AE cash (9.94g), H-22.4, with his regnal name tian ming in Chinese script, one-dot tong, this type much rarer than the Manchu version, Fine. In 1616, Nurhachi (Tian Ming) declared himself Khan (King) and founded the Later Jin Dynasty. He constructed a palace at Mukden (Shenyang) in Liaoning province. The Jin Dynasty was renamed Qing by his son Hong Taiji after his death in 1626, but Nurhachi is traditionally referred to as the founder of the Qing Dynasty.
