MUGHAL: Jahangir, 1605-1628, AR sawai rupee (14.13g), Lahore, AH1019 year 5, KM-159.1, PML-1098/99, month of Bahman, border of wreath on both sides, VF, RRR. Type KM-159.1 was struck at Lahore in AH1019-1020, always with the month as well as date & regnal year, with a new rhyming couplet for each month. The Bahman couplet translates as "In the month of Bahman the gold of Lahore became like the shining moon / In the reign of Shah Nur al-Din Jahangir, son of Shah Akbar. " Type KM-159.1 is much rarer than the other round sawai rupee of Lahore, type KM-158.5.
