MUGHAL: Muhammad Shah, 1719-1748, AR rupee (11.33g), Bhakhar, AH1151 year 21, KM-435.1, very rare local type, used primarily at Bhakhar AH1151-1153, perhaps in opposition to the Afsharid king Nadir Shah, who had conquered most of the area in AH1151 and had coins struck at Bhakhar in his name AH1153-1160, 1 tiny testmark, VF to EF, R, ex M.H. Mirza collection. The obverse text, only conjecturally read by C.J. Brown, has now been reconstructed, sekkeh zad dar jahan za fazl-e Ilah / padeshah-e jahan mohammad shah. "The emperor of the world, Muhammad Shah, struck coins in the world, by grace of God."
