MUGHAL: Muhammad Shah, 1719-1748, AV mohur (10.56g), Surat, year one (ahad), KM-E438.1, scarce type with titles ba-lutf allah badshah-i-zaman; this and all examples on CoinArchives struck from the same dies as the KM-illustrated example; struck only during Muhammad's first regnal year, XF, R. This type is listed in the British Museum Collection as number 953 and attributed to Nikusiyar Mohammed who was a claimant to the throne of India. He had been in prison from 1681 to 1719 and initiated a war to seize the throne in 1719, but quickly failed.
