MUGHAL: Muhammad Shah, 1719-1748, AV mohur (10.93g), Arkat (Arcot), AH11xx year 4, KM-, cf. Zeno-141292 for year 12, same style, standard design and normal Mughal calligraphy; mount removed; one of the rarest Mughal gold mohurs! (incorrectly classified by the consignor as French colonial, but French issues first started with the Arkat mint name in Muhammad Shah's year 22), choice XF, RRRR, ex Syed Rabbi Collection. Only 2 Arkat mint mohurs of Muhammad Shah are confirmed, one dated year 12 (Zeno-141292 = Stevens-AR.10), the other of different style year 20 (Zeno-141287 = Stevens-AR.11), the same two on CoinArchives, sold in 2007 and 2005, respectively.
