MYSORE: Tipu Sultan, 1782-1799, AV pagoda (faruqi) (3.42g), Dharwar, AM1216 year 6, KM-, Henderson, Zeno, Dharwar is the city name, called by the honorific title Khurshid-Sawad on nearly all coins of that city. The name Dharwar occurs on two varieties of the pagoda, one with the Persian "H" and the city name on the obverse (KM-99, Hend-488), the other with the city name below the denomination faruqi, followed by the letter H and the year AM1216, faint scratches on edge, lustrous fields, Unc, RRRR, ex Charles W. Lueders III Collection. This example, a new discovery, unpublished and presumably unique!
