NAN MING: Da Ming, 1644-1646, AE cash (2.67g), Board of Revenue mint, H-21.26, hu at top of reverse, Choice Fine, R. Issued by the Prince of Lu, who set up court in various locations in southeastern China as he fled from the Manchus but did not take the title of Emperor. He eventually died and was buried on Jinmen Island (Kinmen) off the coast of Fujian. Hartill states that these coins were cast for a short time in 1645/6, likely during his brief stay in Taizhou, Zhejiang.
