NEPAL: Unknown issuer, ca. 1600-1660, AR tanka (10.36g), NM, ND, 30.4 mm, design vaguely similar to Nepalese issues of Lakshminarasimha (1619-1641) and Siddhinarasimha (1619-1661), obverse center with Hanuman running right, holding goad, reverse center with hexagram in center, stylized fantasy text around on both sides, derived from a mixture of Arabic, Nagari, and perhaps Chinese; possibly issued by some local authority; many banker's marks on the reverse, as found on contemporary tankas of the Bengal Sultanate; unpublished and tentatively attributed to Nepal, though also possibly from Bengal or Tibet, cleaned, VF, RRR, ex Syed Rabbi Collection.
