NETHERLANDS: AE plaque, 1914, 48mm, bust of the engraver's daughter facing left within a central medallion, adorned with four corners of flowers, SIETSKE / Æ 15/1914 and below signature J. C. WIENECKE // NEDERLANDSCH-BELGISCHE / VEREE-NIGING, around a coining press in a central medallion topped with the arms of Belgium and the Netherlands, and various engraving tools and minting equipment, small reverse stain, EF. Produced for the Dutch Society of Friends of the Medal, this plaque was engraved by Johannes Cornelis Wienecke (1872-1945), who pays homage to his 15-year-old daughter. Johannes Cornelis Wienecke (1872-1945) was a Dutch medallist. He designed the 4th portrait of Queen Wilhelmina used on Dutch coins between 1922 and 1945. He worked many years in Zeist. In 1922 he also designed the logo of the Permanent Court of International Justice, which continues to be used today by the International Court of Justice.
