NORTHERN SONG: Da Guan, 1107-1110, AE 10 cash (16.66g), H-16.426, Slender Golden script, light reverse tooling, an attractive example! VF-EF Emperor Huizong (1082-1135) of the Northern Song, although politically fatuous and incompetent, was also a calligrapher and painter of great reputation. He originated the Slender Golden script (shou jin ti) featuring thin, sturdy strokes in contrast to conventional norms.
