NUREMBERG: AR medalet (0.71g), 1884, Erlanger-144, 20x20mm unsigned octagonal silver medalet for the 150th Birthday of the Numismatist Christoph Andreas Imhof (1734-1807), bust right with "CHRISTOPH ANDREAS IMHOF NAT.1734 OB. 1807" around // three-fold Nuremberg coat of arms with initials GML around, GEP: - IM / VER: - FUR / MÜNZE- - KUNDE above, and AÑO 1884 DOM below, with integral loop, wavy flan, unevenly toned, very rare, Unc, ex Almer H. Orr III Collection. "The miniature medal was created at the meeting of the Association for Numismatics on March 3, 1884. W. Lauer demonstrated a roller press from 1740, on which those present could strike the medal in silver, copper, or brass." A maximum of 20 pieces were struck in silver.
