PALESTINE: British Mandate, AE mil token, 1927, KM-Tn2, souvenir token: "Palestine" in Arabic, English, and Hebrew // 'HISTORICAL' HOLYLAND 'COIN ' around, denomination & olive branch within, thick planchet; type 2, cleaned bu much red luster, PCGS graded Unc details, ex Wolfgang Schuster Collection. The thick planchet variety has the following characteristics; the "C" in "Historical" is re-engraved; the obverse beading is bigger; of the top 2 berries, the left one is higher; and the Hebrew word "mil" is touching the inner circle. This souvenir, which incorporates an appropriate re-production of a 1927 1 mil coin of Palestine, was privately created for sale to pilgrims as a souvenir of their visit to the Holy Land. It is not known who produced them nor how many were produced. Three varieties are known.
