MAX. around Papal bust right, EGO ORAVI PRO TE VT NON DEFICIAT FIDES TVA ROMA in outer legend, signed C MOSCETTI below bust // Jesus crucified supported by two cherubs and topped by the Holy Spirit with two angels praying at feet and GUIDUS RENUS PINXIT – CAR STUBENRAUCH F below, a wonderful mint state example! PCGS graded MS64. The Holy Trinity painting, depicting God the Father, the crucified Christ, and the Holy Spirit as a dove surrounded by angels, was painted by the renowned Italian artist Guido Reni and was completed in July 1626, and commissioned by Cardinal Lodovico Ludovisi in 1624, for the Santissima Trinità dei Pellegrini church in Rome. It was allegedly painted in only 27 days.
