PAPUA NEW GUINEA: Tanga Islands, grooved shell ring (89.16g), Opitz p.302, 82 x 29mm, known as am fat in the Tanga language, made from the valve of a large tridacna shell, with several grooves carved into the shell wall, considered the major shell wealth on the islands, EF, ex Charles Opitz Collection.
