U de COLOMBIA*BOLIVIA*E.U de VENEZUELA*CHILE*PERU*ECUADOR*R.ARGENTINA around, and small R.B. in exergue // AROSEMENA / BENAVENTE / GUZMAN / MONTT / PAZ-SOLDAN / PIEDRAHITA / SARMIENTO below radiant sun, enclosed by a wreath with R.B. in small letters below bow, with + CONGRESO AMERICANO.INSTALA DO EN LIMA EL DIA 28 DE OCTUBRE DE 1864 AROUND ALL, plain edge, obverse rim bump, attractive design, extremely rare in gold, with a handful of confirmed examples, this being the finest noted. a handsome specimen of this rarity with a matching outstanding pedigree, choice EF, RRR, ex Eliasberg Collection, ex American Numismatic Rarities Auction 2005, Lot 3589 (sold for $5290); ex J.C.
