PERU: Fernando VII, 1808-1822, AR 8 reales, 1811, KM-106.2, Calicó-476, assayer JP, imaginary bust, short ribbons, wonderful light gold and blue tone, light haymarking, but appears to be undergraded, NGC graded MS62, R. The Spanish Colonies rejected Joseph Bonaparte as king, so through 1811, some mints hadn't received new dies with Ferdinand VII's bust. Therefore, some mints created Imaginary Busts, including Lima, which produced a likeness far from that of Ferdinand.
