XII MART MDCCCXXXII around a swan raising Goethe, laureated wearing antique garb, with his lyre, to the skies, which are typified by an arch of nine stars with his chest partially bare, his right hand raised held high as he looks upwards, seated upon the back of the swan, a lovely specimen quality example! PCGS graded Specimen 63. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe(1749-1832) was a German polymath who is widely regarded as the most influential writer in the German language. His work has had a wide-ranging influence on literary, political, and philosophical thought in the Western world from the late 18th century to the present.
