PRUSSIA: Friedrich Wilhelm III, 1797-1840, AR 4 groschen, 1803-A, KM-370, C-104, a wonderful lustrous argent mint state example! PCGS graded MS64, ex Joe Sedillot Collection. In 1803, Prussia expanded its territory through the secularization and mediatisation of smaller states within the Holy Roman Empire. While not directly at war, it was feeling the pressure of Napoleon’s growing power and maneuvered carefully to avoid confrontation, something that would change dramatically a few years later.
