Potin, V.M. [Editor], Proshloye nashey Rodiny v pamyatnikakh numizmatiki, Aurora Publishers, Leningrad, 1977, 220 pages, hardcover. Title roughly translates as "The Past of Our Motherland through the Monuments of Numismatics." The Numismatics Department of the State Hermitage compiled this collection. The collection is dedicated to the past of our Motherland, reflected in numismatic sources. Most of articles and publications are devoted to coins, their typology, attribution and dating (articles by L.N.Belova, V.M. Brabich, Yu.L. Dyukov, I.G. Dobrovolsky and I.V. Sokolova), the technique of coinage (articles by V.A.Kalinin and I.G. Spassky), and coin hoards (I.G. Dobrovolsky and T.N. Minasyan). Also, there are articles about the coins of the ancient Black Sea region and medieval Kherson, and Georgia in the 7th-18th centuries. There is an excellent article by M.B. Severova on Russian countermarked coins on Iranian copper falus.
