Yelu Dashi, 1124-1143, AE cast cash, square hole (5.23g), NM, ND, A-3488, ruler cited by the titles malik aram yinal qaraj on the obverse (in late Kufic Arabic), blank reverse; type found between Kyrgyzstan and Xinjiang; some reverse adhesions, VF. Yelü Dashi was the first of the Western Liao dynasty of China, known as the Qara-Khitay ("black cathay"). This type was called Qarakhanid prototype, A-1510P, before new research.
