QARAKHANID: Muhammad b. Nasr, 1020-1055, AE fals (3.19g), Fer[ghana], AH401, A-3320, Kochnev-562a, Zeno-77031, dated 41 without the middle digit, citing Muhammad b. `Ali as ilek in quadrilobed square, followed by Muhammad b. Nasr as `ayn al-dawla // citing overlord Mansur b. `Ali as arslan khan, naming Muhammad b. `Ali in margin, glossy dark brown patina, VF to EF, RRR, ex Ralph A Cannito Collection. Once a major mint of copper coins, Ferghana suddenly ceased production at the beginning of the 5th century, as no coins between 402 and 409 are recorded in Kochnev or Zeno. Even after resuming in 410, there were far fewer coins produced and sporadically in a handful of years.
