QING: Guang Xu, 1875-1908, AE charm (4.73g), CCH-210, fu shou ("happiness and longevity") in seal script, light stain, likely made in Sichuan, VF, ex K.K. Lee Collection, in old American Missionary Church Tithe & Offering Envelope dated 15 July 1923. Empress Dowager Cixi is said to have had these palace charms made to give out on special occations and important birthdays. Empress Dowager Cixi held the Regency from 1861-1908.
