QING: Xian Feng, 1851-1861, AE 100 cash, Suzhou mint, Jiangsu Province, H-22.917, Cr-16-11, cast 1854-55, some light rim knocks, VF. Jiangsu Province was particularly affected during the Taiping rebellion and several branch mints were set up outside the main mint in Suzhou. A mint was set up in Zhun’an (now Qingjiang) and Dunxin. Two auxillary mints were set up to handle the demand, the first called "Emergency Preparations" (Choufang) and another called "Relief Preparations" (Chouji). All casting of large value coins ended in September 1855 in Jiangsu as they had fallen out of favor.
