RASULID: al-Ashraf Isma'il II, 1427-1428, AR dirham (1.84g), al-Mahjam, AH830, A-A1113, Zeno-191377, mint & date in numerals in the obverse center, all types of this short reign are extremely rare, unusually well struck for this reign, VF-XF, RRR, ex SARC Auction 10 Lot 533. The Rasulids were a Sunni Muslim dynasty who ruled Yemen from 1229 to 1454 AD. All Rasulid dirhams can be classified into types based on the geometric frame surrounding the central fields on both obverse and reverse. During the reigns of al-Ashraf Isma'il I (778-803) and especially his successors, there are numerous types with different patterns on each face.
