SAFAVID: 'Abbas I, 1588-1629, AR abbasi (7.71g), Nimruz, ND, A-2634.1, type B, undated, with name 'Abbas and the mint name Nimruz in the obverse central circle, lovely Very Fine, RR. The Safavid region of Nimruz now lies partly in Iran (called Sistan), Afghanistan (now Nimruz) and Pakistan (part of Baluchistan). The mint was presumably at the provincial capital of Zaranj, now in Afghanistan, about 3 miles from the Iranian border.
