SAILANA: George V, 1910-1936, AE 1/4 anna, 1912, Y-6, a brilliant chocolate brown example, cleaned, PCGS graded Unc details. Ex: Almer H. Orr III collection. The Sailana State was founded by Jai Singh, great-grandson of Ratan Singh, founder of Ratlam State in 1736. Initially his capital was at Raoti. He built Sailana city as his new capital in 1736. On 5 January 1819 Sailana State became a British protectorate. Its last ruler signed the accession to the Indian Union on 15 June 1948.
