SALGHURID: Abish bint Sa'd, 1265-1285, AE fals (3.44g), Shiraz, AH665, A-1932, atabeg / abish within hexagram // name of Ilkhan overlord as qa'an al-'adil at the top, date below, Chinese character bao in center (horizontal), date khams sittin for 66 in words, numerals "600" for "six hundred" below, minor weakness, decent Fine, RRR. According to the Ilkhan historian Vassal, the Mongol governor Inkiyanu, assigned as co-ruler alongside Abish, was recalled and sent back to the court of Qubilai Qa'an, perhaps as far as China, for the indiscretion of having placed "a secret symbol" in the Chinese script on the coinage of Shiraz! A similar example sold at Stephen Album Auction 17, Lot 632, for $580.
