SALVADOR: AR peso, 1908, KM-115.1, C.A.M. mint mark, NGC graded MS63. Minting in El Salvador came to an end in 1896. Due to high production costs, minting coins locally turned out to be a bad deal for the Salvadoran government; the old mint building was then occupied by National Printing. The subsequent production of silver coins was made by various mints in Europe and the United States until 1914. These were still carrying the initials C.A.M. (Central American Mint).
